Happiness
One of the inmates that Fine Cell Work works with did a piece for them on happiness from one of the UK based prisons. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Knowing that this guy to some degree is cut off from society, and when thinking about happiness comes up with this is very impressive. It is so detailed… The colours are amazing, and I like the fact that it is quite naive and surreal at the same time.
We have been using the images as inspiration for the embroidery that we are producing with Fine Cell Work for AW13.
Embroidery
For A/W13 we have teamed up with Fine Cell Work for the embroidery. They are a charity working with over 40 prisons in the UK. Fine Cell Work train around 400 prisoners each year in the craft of needlework. 75% of the stitchers are men. Some of these guys will be producing all the embroidery from UK based prisons for the upcoming collection.
Some examples of the cushions Fine Cell Work are currently producing.
The talented Jessica Ball from Yours Sustainable has been helping out with the embroidery for the first samples. Here is a little preview of what will be revealed next month.

Preparing For Christmas
I am probably the biggest fan of Christmas around over the age of 12. This is my first time ever away from Denmark/England at this time of year and I am finding it hard to get into my usual over excited Christmas spirit. The problem is I am in Australia for the month, and sunny days on the beach somehow doesn’t signify Christmas…And what is it about those tacky blow up Santas the Australians seem to be such great fans of?
We have been into every Op Shop in the area to find proper Christmas decorations.
I love my first ever fake tree. It is like a puzzle putting it together.
